2016-17 PTA Executive Board Nominees

The Nominating Committee presents the following candidates for the 2016-17 PTA Executive Board:

* Voting will be held prior to the Art Showcase on Thursday, Apr. 7 at 6:00 PM




Amy Cooper is excited and honored to return to the Alki PTA Executive Board in 2016! She is an engaging member of the Alki community, serving on the 2014/15 Board as VP/Events, 2014 80‘s Auction Chair, 2015 Auction Procurement Team, 3rd year PTA Budget Committee member and 1st year joining school budget discussions with the Building Leadership Team. She will take a 2 year hiatus from being a volunteer Roots of Empathy instructor in Alki’s Kinder classrooms to focus on her new PTA role. Mom to Max (2nd grader) and Eliza (Alki debut, 2017)

Amy’s campaign promises include karaoke at PTA meetings and wine tasting fund-raisers. 😉 Enthusiastic, organized and a strong communicator she’s excited to work with her fellow PTA Executive Board members and Alki’s awesome staff and families as we continually strive to make Alki all we dream it to be for our kids (and us too!) Let’s do this!



Lisa Rockel is a stay at home mom to Keira Kent (5th grader) and Ryan Rockel (kindergarten). Before moving to Seattle, she was the Executive Assistant to the CFO at Blackberry and more recently the Site Treasure at Alki Cooperative Preschool. Lisa enjoys traveling, yoga, drawing and spending time with her friends and family. This will be Lisa’s first year on the PTA. She has a positive outlook and can bring her creative and organizational skills to her nominated roll as VP of fundraising.


CO-VP EVENTS:  Lindsay Yost

Lindsay Yost is mom to Carson, in kindergarten, and Asher, future Alki kid in 2017. She’s spent her career in the entertainment industry both on and behind the stage as well as in arts education. Most recently she was the event manager for the ShoWare Center in Kent, adding sports management to her arts and entertainment experience. Lindsay is looking forward to helping the Alki PTA with the important task of building a strong and involved community. As VP of Events, she aims to create a welcoming environment for the families and educators of Alki.


SECRETARY:  Danielle Jones

Danielle Jones is a mom of three to Ella (5th grade), Camden (2nd grade), and Ivy (three years). Her family moved here last year from Denver where she taught elementary school and served on the PTA. While living in Denver she also served on the Executive Board for 5 years as the Secretary, VP, and President of her kids’ cooperative preschool. Danielle currently works part-time at the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce. She enjoys running, wine, sunshine, and camping. When school breaks you can find her on a jet plane. Danielle looks forward to making a great contribution to the awesome Alki Elementary community in her nominated role as Secretary.
