Alki Staff Appprecation Week – How you can help!

Hello Alki families!

Welcome back from Spring Break where we’re sure you thought A LOT about how hard our staff and teachers work with your children in their care 180 days of the year! Well, the time is coming to show them your gratitude: Staff Appreciation Week May 2nd- 6th

We plan to give Alki’s educators the Best Week Ever! Here’s how you can help:

Kids Say the Darnedest Things!

“Interview” your students with the questions below this week and email their responses to Amy Cooper by Monday, April 25th. Don’t forget Alki’s support staff and teachers as well! (Librarian, Counselors, Special Education, PE, Art, Music, Instructional Aids, Administrative Secretaries, Nurse, Custodian and Principal.) Responses will be compiled and given to their respective recipients May 6th with a few kid quotes and anecdotes to be published in May Currents and on our Staff Appreciation Week Bulletin Board! If you would also like to share a message of gratitude from yourself – feel free!

  • My favorite thing about my teacher is…
  • My teacher always says…
  • My teacher likes when I…
  • My favorite memory so far this year is…

Volunteer, Volunteer, Volunteer!

The week is filled with special treats to thank our staff for all they do throughout the whole year! Visit ASAP and help coordinate gift baskets for staff, bring treats for the breakfast bar, help clean the staff lounge, give an hour of your time to help with a staff member’s never-ending to-do list, bring taco fixin’s for a special Cinco De Mayo Luncheon. PLEASE DON’T DELAY – sign up now to be a part of making our Alki educators feel extra special!

A Few of Their “Favorite Things!”

Everyone loves gifts from the heart and Alki’s staff are no exception! If you would like to give any of our staff members a small token of your appreciation we want to make it easy for you. We have done a little sleuthing to find out their “favorite things!” Watch for this upcoming communication, if you’re looking for gift ideas and inspiration, then simply send in your gift (whether a card or an item, whether homemade or store bought) with your student (specifying the recipients, please) during Staff Appreciation Week and our “gift-giving organizers” will collect and combine them into a lovely basket of gratitude that will be sent home with staff members as the icing on the cake of their BEST WEEK EVER!
