Inclusion Committee Listening Hours

Inclusion Committee is launching Listening Hours again.

Listening Hours are private conversations between Alki community members and volunteers trained in Empathic Listening. Our goal is to open up conversations about experiences related to diversity, culture, and inclusion at Alki Elementary. We’ll be working with a simple game to help participants tell their stories, and we’ll ask participants to share one positive and one difficult experience about their Alki experience during the conversation. We aim to create a safe space for every member of the Alki Community to share what matters to them.

All sessions are confidential and only information that the participant allows us to share will be used to help start conversations around what programs and activities we can introduce to make Alki Elementary a more representative and inclusive community.

The Inclusion Committee’s mission is to create a more inclusive environment at Alki Elementary and empower others to share their experiences. We want to help shape Alki Elementary into a place where people are heard and appreciated. We want our Community to be a place where we celebrate our individual and cultural diversity. We want it to be a place where everyone feels that they belong.
