Welcome Incoming Kinders!

We are excited to welcome to you to Alki Elementary.  Below, you will find information on summer playdates and more!  School starts on Monday, September 9 (7:50 AM) for Kindergarteners (September 4th for all other students).

[First thing first] ENROLL YOUR STUDENT: Seattle Public Schools Enrollment has gone paperless and families can now enroll students online.  Enroll online at  https://www.seattleschools.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=627&pageId=14926.

PLAYDATES:  Over the Summer, Alki Elementary will be hosting Kindergarten Playdates (Alki Playground) as a chance for incoming students and their families to get to know one another before school starts.  You will get a chance to connect with our Kindergarten teachers and our PTA organization.

Saturday, July 27th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM

Wednesday, August 21st from 5:30 – 6:30 PM

POPSICLE SOCIAL:  Alki PTA hosts a Popsicle Social event on August 29th from 2-3 PM where families can come and see class placements for the upcoming school year and you will have a chance to meet your teacher and Alki staff.  During this event, Kinder families will have the opportunity to sign up for a one-on-one Family Connections meeting that happens the first week of September.  Plus, FREE popsicles!

FAMILY CONNECTIONS:  All Kindergarten families have a 30 minute, one-on-one meeting with your child’s teacher September 4-6th.  This will be a chance for you and your child to see their classroom and the school, while getting the opportunity to build a relationship with your kindergarten teacher.  if you are not able to attend the Popsicle Social event, your child’s teacher will reach out to you to schedule a meeting.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL RECEPTION:  The first day of school will be on Monday, September 9th.  Immediately following drop off (drop off time is 7:50 AM), please join us for a PTA sponsored Kindergarten Parent Reception in the Alki Lunchroom for coffee and treats.
