Here is Seattle Public School District’s page to all you need to access for the beginning of the year.

This has a checklist that helps lay out all your possible needs going into the school year. If you need further help navigating, we can help you find what you need or point you in the right direction to get your questions answered.

Alki Elementary : Bell Schedule

School Hours: 7:55 a.m. - 2:25 p.m. 
Wednesdays: 7:55 a.m. - 1:10 p.m.

The area of 59th ave between Admiral Way and Stevens street will be for school bus loading and unloading only (we are expecting five school buses in that area). Do not use this path for personal car traffic.

• If possible, please arrange to carpool with at least one other family. Alki is participating in the SchoolPool program through King County Metro. Next week I will have more information to share on that and a representative will be at our back-to-school ice cream social for more information and support.

• The family vehicle pick-up and drop-off zone is located on the east side of 59th Avenue SW north of SW Stevens Street and adjacent to Alki Playground and Whale Tail Park.

PLEASE DO NOT travel on 59th Avenue SW between SW Admiral Way and SW Stevens Street, to allow for safe and efficient school bus load and unload.

• During morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, 59th Avenue SW between SW Stevens Street and SW Lander Street should be used for one-way northbound travel only to ensure efficiency of the family vehicle load/unload zone. When dropping off or picking up students at the school load zone on 59th Avenue SW, drivers should approach the school from the west using 61st Avenue SW, turn onto SW Stevens Street, and then left (northbound) onto 59th Avenue SW. Figure above shows the routes that should be used to access the school load zone.

• Use the school load zone on 59th Avenue SW for drop off or pick up only; do not park or leave a vehicle unattended in the school load zone.

• As an alternative to using the school load zone along 59th Avenue SW, it would help our community if families park a minimum of one block away from the school, and have students walk to and from the school building. They may walk with guardians, adults or other students and be directed to designated marked and signed crosswalks and/or locations where crossing guards are located. Figure below shows the suggested Park & Walk boundary.

• If the load zone is full, family drivers may park outside the Park & Walk boundary (Figure below) and walk to or from the school with their students.

• Please refer to the DO and DO NOT guidelines below for driving students to and from Alki Elementary School.

• School breakfast and playground supervision begin at 7:35 a.m. daily.

As an alternative to using the school load zone along 59th Avenue SW, it would help our community if families park a minimum of one block away from the school, and have students walk to and from the school building. PLEASE KEEP OUR STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY SAFE!

 Follow these rules when you travel to and from school:

• DO follow speed limits, including 20 mph in the designated School Speed Zone when children are present.

• DO watch for pedestrians, bicyclists, and crossing guards near the school, at intersections, crosswalks, and near the school.

• DO arrive between 7:35 and 7:50 a.m. for morning drop-off. Students are not allowed on school property before 7:35 a.m.

• Pick-up begins at 2:25 p.m., 1:10 p.m. on early release Wednesdays. To avoid congestion at the school load zone, DO arrive after 2:25 p.m.

• DO cross only at crosswalks and intersection corners; DO NOT let students cross in the middle of a block.

• DO follow the prescribed circulation plan and only travel northbound on 59th Avenue SW from SW Stevens Street to access the family vehicle load/unload zone.

• If using on-street parking, DO find a legal parking space and seek parking at least one block away from the school, and ensure that your student uses appropriate crosswalk locations.

• DO NOT park or loiter in the school load zone on 59th Avenue SW during morning arrival or afternoon dismissal.

• DO NOT use our neighbors’ driveways to park, wait, or to turn around.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS following applicable traffic laws when using nearby street and roadways for parking or waiting:

• Stay 5 feet from driveways

• Stay 15 feet from fire hydrants and mailboxes

• Stay 20 feet from crosswalks or unsigned intersections

• Stay 30 feet from a stop sign or yield sign

• DO NOT block travel lanes

• DO NOT park or drive on landscape strips.

• DO encourage your student to ride the bus, walk, or bike to school. DO carpool with other families if driving to school is necessary. DO volunteerto help organize walking school buses, identify safe routes for biking or provide supervision of students walking to school.

If your child is ill, will be late to school, or has an appointment and needs to leave early, please email attendance and your child’s teacher.

SPS The Source is the official online communication portal used by Seattle Public Schools (SPS). It provides parents, guardians, and students with secure access to schedules, attendance, assessment scores, grades, and other important school-related information.

It is recommended to arrange a meeting that includes yourself, your teacher, the resources department, and the administration. Begin by emailing the individuals you know who will be part of the team, and the school can add any additional members as necessary. These meetings typically take place after school hours to facilitate everyone's participation.

Yes! Located in the front hallway near the office, find lost items in bins (water bottles, lunch boxes, etc) or rolling racks (clothing items).
