This program will not run if we cannot find a someone to lead this program. The running club chair(s) responsibilities include: recruiting coaches, managing online and paper registrations & scholarships, conducting a mandatory training session for coaches, and overseeing the program in general once it’s begun (ensuring kids are checked in, providing coaches with team snacks, and being available for extra support if a coach is absent).
WHAT IS RUNNING CLUB? Running Club is a five week after school program for all students K-5th in April/May. The club is run by parent volunteers for all grades and is intended to help kids increase their physical activity through games and running challenges with their peers. Kids will receive a necklace and a foot charm for each week they participate.
When is running club? Running club meets once per week, for 5 weeks, after school from 2:25 – 3:30 PM, beginning the last week of April.
Who can participate? All grade levels K-5
Where is it held? Starts/Ends in the gym and activities take place on the field and near the school.
Coaches needed: Each group of children requires 2-3 coaches every week (our goal is 15-20 coaches). The more coaches we have, the more kids we can include. If you are unable to commit to the full five weeks, but are still interested in helping out as a part time or back up coach, please let us know. REMINDER: Participation in Running Club is FREE for the children of coaches! Please email our PTA events chair, Emily Anderson at firstname.lastname@example.org
