Thanks to a grant from National PTA and Bayer Fund, Alki PTA is excited to offer our school community the STEM + Families Science Festival. We would love for you and your family to join us for family-friendly fun! You will have an opportunity to explore science through fun, hands-on experiments.
Participate in fun, hands-on science experiments with your family, guided by our PTA.
PARTICIPATE LIVE! Pre-register for our live virtual event happening Friday, May 14, 2021 and perform these experiments in real time with the school.
PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN PACE! Instructions and discussion questions have been provided for you and your family to conduct all 4 experiments at your own pace. Videos from the live presentation will be available at alkipta.com/STEM following the event.
SCIENCE SUPPLY BAGS: Thanks to a grant awarded to Alki PTA, science supply bags with all of the necessary materials will be distributed this week to all Alki students. Your science supply bags will come home in backpacks for those in-person and included in at-home learner’s materials bags to be picked up this Friday, May 14th (3-5pm) during Alki’s Materials Distribution Day.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Gather your Science Supply Bag, the following supplies, have an adult nearby, read the instructions thoroughly, put on your safety goggles and let’s begin!
For these experiments, you will need:
PRIZES: Science if fun, but so is winning stuff! 10 lucky winners will receive prize packs for participating in our live virtual event or sharing photos of your “at your own pace” at-home experiences. To qualify, send your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org before May 21, 2021. Students are not required in pictures to qualify for prize packs.
